Molecular Imaging of Glial Tumors: Established and Emerging Tracers

Abstract Various positron emission tomography (PET) tracers have been developed and extensively studied in the field of neuro-oncology imaging. In management brain tumors, accurate delineation tumor extent, assessment treatment response, detection early recurrence are most important factors. At present, conventional anatomical imaging paired with amino acid tracer PET is recommended modality for glial evaluation. Newer targeting various structures microenvironment studied. This review summarizes established emerging having potential impact on practice.
